Biography of William Robert Grove

William Robert Grove was a Welsh judge and physical scientist. He anticipated the general theory of the conservation of energy, and was a pioneer of fuel cell technology.

Grove was a barrister by training; despite this he researched into electrochemistry, producing improved types of battery. He was never an officer of the Royal Institution but was a member from 1835.
