Science changes lives, and it starts with a spark.
Launching in April, the Be the Spark campaign will seek support for a range of ambitious initiatives inside and far beyond our Grade I listed Albemarle Street home. We invite you to join us on this exciting journey to help enrich many more lives through the wonder of engagement with science.
For over 225 years, the Royal Institution has ignited curiosity and transformed science education and communication, making cutting-edge science accessible to all. As a charity, we rely on support to continue this very important work.
The ambitious new Be the Spark campaign will aim to raise £20 million over the next four years. From our UK schools and education programmes, engaging a global science community, to maintaining our Grade I listed building, and preserving and promoting our significant heritage – the campaign will secure and grow our cherished work.
We are fundraising for four key funds:
- Preserve and Protect: Protecting our heritage, preservation of the building and collections and building solid foundations for the future.
- Zero Ready: Developing and supplementing planned activity to bring the Albemarle St site towards net zero.
- Science Global: Sustaining programming with a global reach and creating innovative solutions to bring science to global audiences.
- Inspiring Generations: Enhancing the programmes that light a spark of curiosity for science in young people
This campaign is essential to ensure the Ri's long-term sustainability and continued impact. By providing our dedicated supporters with clear opportunities to contribute, we can build a stronger basis for the future, enabling us to expand our programming and reach even wider audiences.
