About the event

This year the 2023 CHRISTMAS LECTURES will be on Artificial Intelligence presented by Mike Wooldridge.

The event is comprised of a series of in-person talks by experts on the topic as well as guided and facilitated discussions about the place of science in society and our daily lives. The aim of the Youth Summit is to gather Young People’s opinions, concerns and interests about the topic to aid the writing of the CHRISTMAS LECTURES script. Activities and demonstrations based on the topic will be available throughout the day.

The 2023 Youth Summit is a free event, for students aged 16-18. We are inviting teachers to sign up a maximum of 20 students to bring along to the Royal Institution in September, to participate in this event.

We are able to reimburse schools for travel expenses, in some circumstances. Please contact youthsummit@ri.ac.uk for more information.

A more detailed plan for the day will be sent out nearer the time. Please book now to secure places. Exact numbers of students can be changed prior to the event, but please book for the rough number of students you would like to come along.
