Our Masterclasses

Over the last six weeks, 24 children from 6 different schools near here have been attending Maths Masterclasses. We have been looking at symmetry in names, making fractals and looking at how to solve maths puzzles. I have learnt lots and have been having lots of fun while doing it. As well as this, some visitors have come in to do activities with us.

One week we were having a go at some interactive games including the frogs investigation. The next week we had a go at some shape games where we had to try and make a square by drawing one line at a time but it was really tricky because the person you were playing against was allowed to block you.

I really enjoyed it when Amy from the Royal Institution came along to our Masterclass to teach us about fractals and even gave us some nets to take home and make. At the end we made a massive pyramid with all our fractals. I really enjoyed this session.
